I wanted to get it done fast cause I hate rep grinds. As soon as I came across the everfrost shards, I knew this was going to be just like Netherwing rep.

Getting Exalted with Sons of Hordir was pretty much on my main list of, things to do.

So I started to plan out my route to efficiently start farming for the nearly impossible to see shards.
When I came back from my break I already had completed all the quests and was currently sitting around 4-5k in honored rep. So I wasn’t toooo far behind.

My normal day of wow started off doing the Hordir dailies and making sure to get at least 10 shards a day…took only bout an hour to an hour and a half.
In this thread I’m going to show you the flight pattern I took and some maybe difficult to find locations as well as showing you how to get one of the
pesky shards that likes to disappear when you enter the Fjorn’s Anvil instance.
With the flight pattern I’m about to show you, I managed to get exalted from honored in less then 12 days. Which is really fast considering I only spent an 1hr to 1hr 30m a day looking for shards.

FLIGHT ROUTE MAP

———————————————————

Ok now for the hard part… trying to explain

To start off I’m going to point out that I ALWAYS go in a counter clockwise direction.
This is personal preference nothing more. Ill now talk about the color codes I got listed on the map.

GOLD

I thought I would throw this little tid bit in here. What the gold lines are pointing to is my starting point.
I always start from where the lines meet and go counter clockwise from there, whether or not I come from Dalaran or Ice Crown.

RED

1st section. This Flight route is just on the surface only

MAROON

1st section. This Flight route is up on the mountains from where the “red” flight route is.

BLACK

2nd section. This is the section where you pick up the dailies also some shards if your lucky enough.

DARK GREEN

3rd section. This Flight route is both surface and mountain tops. The way the shards are lined up and normally
dropped in this area were a little random and made it some what inefficient to make a flight route like the 1st section.

FLIGHT ROUTE

Alright, nothing to complex here, to start my hunt I come in at where the gold lines point at.
I then follow the entire “red” section going counter clockwise, after I come back to my starting point I go up the “maroon” section and follow that around.
When I’m done with that I fly over the bottom of the “black” section cutting threw (glancing for shards) to the “green” section.
I then follow this route (again counter clockwise) all the way around to get me to the top part of the “black” section, which I then do my hunt here.
After I’m done in there it’s just a matter of rinse and repeat.

SECTIONS

I would now like to mention that Blizzard made 3 sections to the spawn location of the shards.
Which I labeled on the route map. The reason I’m mentioning this is because if you take a shard from the last spawn in that section
it will spawn in a different one. Usually its 1-2 shards a section..but I have gotten 3. So for ex:

I loot a shard from section 1 and it was my 2nd or 3rd one, I will move onto either section 2 or 3 (for this sake I’ll say 2) After I’m done with 2 I’ll move to 3.
Reason being is because 80-90% of the time a shard will not spawn back at the place you just took the last shard spawn at…in this case 1.

I generally save section 2 for last..again personal preference but if your on a high pop server
it might be difficult to find one here as that’s where the dailies are and thus high traffic of people and more likely it will be seen and looted.

DISAPPEARING SHARD

I know this has been covered here but oh well, I just feel like my guide wouldn’t be complete with it being mentioned here.
Basically there is shard located in Fjorn’s Anvil that disappears when you enter from Storm Peaks instance. Here I have some pictures to help you successfully loot that tricky shard.

The shard would be located in the general area of where my totem is.
I’m standing at 73,65, which is Fjorn’s Anvil..thus I would not be able to see the shard. You will have to stand just outside of Fjorn’s to make the shard visible.

Now to obtain this shard you have to stand just behind the tree line, which is actually still Storm Peaks
and you will be just close enough to be able to loot it. One more step and it actually turns into Fjorn’s Anvil

HIDDEN

In this part Id just like to share some spots I found shards at, that could be tricky to spot at first (not that they aren’t already hard enough to see)

56,67

58,68

60,65

74,58

74,52

Id also like to add this as a side note, to get exalted from revered you only need 60 shards.
So at 10 shards a day..that’s only 6 days of farming..easy and quick, not counting then relics you get while doing the dailies.
